    • These shoes fit very tight and I don’t like how hard it is to squeeze my foot in. They look nice but don’t fit anywhere close to my old pair. I will be returning them unfortunately

    • Got a track jacket from the sale. Based on the last Adidas track jacket I owned I thought $40 was a good deal but holy shit does this thing feel cheaply made and insubstantial. I've owned more solid feeling t-shirts and feel ripped off even at that price point.

    • React foam is better.
depends for what. React is not as soft/cushioned as UB (or Zoom X) but some may find it gives more stability for running/sports as UB foam is softer and doesn't give as much "stability" though the heel lock is not bad. UB is better for walking around and recovery/long distances with the cushioning... it's better than react foam imo (i currently am wearing UB 2019, 2022 and DNA as well as infinity react 2 , NB freshfoam and other nike that i wear for runs and going out). UB also retains the foam better in terms of cushioning i find (my infinity reacts are much harder and less absorbing over time than the UB). the infinity reacts are supposed to be Nike's shoe for recovery and max cushioned shoe and even when new it wasn't even as cushioned as the UB19 .

React foam isn't as good as UB, but zoom x is better than UB for cushioning and stability

    • a general question about adidas shoes but do the men's and women ultraboosts fit differently? I wanted to get a pair (maybe i will in person or at the outlet) but the womens sizing is very limited
got the UB 5 and the sizing is about 1.5 difference. men 9 = female 10.5.

I had the issue with men sold out so i bought the female version. a quick search said they're the same besides a slight color difference, which i dont mind, so i just bought it.

received today and they fit perfectly. i dont have any other UB but i matched it up to my nike frees and the sizing matched up.

ULTRABOOST 22: CREATED BY WOMEN FOR THE FEMALE RUNNING COMMUNITY

Our new Ultraboost 22 is informed by women-specific insights to provide runners with a shoe that is specifically comfort tailored to their feet. This launch is a step in our long-term commitment to offer the best product to all women, through improvements and benefits that support the needs of our diverse community of women.

      DESIGNED FOR THE FEMALE FOOT
Our all women team of designers and product developers worked closely with the adidas running community and testers to create the new silhouette, which marks the biggest update to the Ultraboost line-up yet. A shoe which has been at the forefront of performance running since its first iteration in 2015, the Ultraboost 22 delivers supreme energy return technology, combined with a refined design for ultimate comfort.

Tapping into women-specific insights and using an online anatomy database of 1.2 million foot scans1, conducted and analyzed by footwear and technology researchers Jura, Žabkar & Džerosk (2019), our design team identified key differences across instep height, heel anatomy and females’ gait cycle trends and re-engineered and refined the Ultraboost last to better reflect the female foot. The new last, born from the foundations of the signature S- curve UB21 last, was fine-tuned to create a narrower heel pocket, shallower forefoot profile and lower instep area, whilst the newly refined outsole is designed to help you say goodbye to overpronation.
      https://www.adidas.ca/en/women-ultraboost_22
For the latest edition, we wrapped everything you love about the Ultraboost around the female foot. With the help of 1.2 million foot scans, we updated Ultraboost with a complete 360° fit improvement. And we didn’t stop there. We re-engineered the rubber outsole. We tested hundreds of prototypes. We tweaked them. We retested them. We kept going until we saw visible improvements in performance. The result? 4% more energy return, compared to Ultraboost 21 for women.

    • I always wanted to try out the ultraboost, but a $130 price tag even at 50% off, I always ended up picking up a pair of Nike zoom/react foam runner for like $60-$70. How much better is the ultraboost in comparison?
UB is closer to zoom x for "squishiness"

Sherway and Queen Street West stores had ultraboosts still 50% on Wednesday Jan 11th but I have since been told the sale ended that day

    • Just from what I have noticed personally; the regular UB seems to be a bit better for indoor/ warm weather walking, as it's sole is a bit more durable. The DNA has slightly better grip, at the expense of a softer less durable sole.

    • Any difference between the different types of UBs? or is it just marketing?
Have asked this question before and not really gotten an answer. Shoe companies truly are terrible at product differentiation and explaining the differences!

Best I could discover was that UB DNA is a lifestyle shoe while regular UB is a runner, but now people on here are talking like UB is not for regular running anyway so I’m still confused. That’s certainly why I bought it!
I found size 10 fits a bit too tight though. We’ll see if my 10.5 exchange goes through

Maybe for sports, but not for standing, walking, and hanging out.

    • agree, tried these for the first time, should have tried them in store, not sure what all the hype is about, seems like any other regular foam shoe...

    • Just received mine, it is a tight fit, the shoes look nice and the foam is okay, should be a 100$ sneaker though. The foam didn’t feel that special compared to regular runner shoes.

    • I have a ton of 4.0s and 3.0s (and 1 ‘22) but the primeknit on these 1.0s I just received is much more comfortable. It’s true that it takes more effort to squeeze my feet into the opening, but once in, they’re more comfortable, imo.

    • Got 2 pairs of 1.0s, they're much tighter around the ankle than my 3.0s, hard to get your foot in there..

I don't like the translucent cage on the white pair, may return
got my 22s, very tight around the ankle but its my first UB, so i have no comparison

Also disappointed by the DNA 1.0's. Quality is worse than my original run 4.0 (not DNA) and it's smaller as well. Will likely return both pairs.

Online sale was finally done on the 8th but it’s still on till the end of the 10th in stores. That’s what a manager at Sherway told me. Today is the last day to grab 50% off for now.

    • I have no idea why RFD'ers still go crazy over these deals on Ultraboosts. You can find shoes on sale from other brands that are softer and lighter for less money.
Speaking only for myself, there are hundreds (or thousands?) of different running/walking shoes out there. Stores wouldn't carry all of them. A person can't reasonably try them all on without looking like they're wasting the employee's time. It's not like say coats where the product is out on display and a person can try on a dozen on their own. Unlike shoes where each pair and size are at the back that an employee has to go get. So when there's a highly recommended shoe then people will flock to it because in the shoe market there are just too many products to sift through.
    • What specific models from other brands would you recommend?
Nothing lol. The midsole foam is squishy/comfy, but the Boost tech is actually very outdated now. Every athletics shoe brand has their own "super-foam" now, and the technology there has gotten a lot better than Adidas' Boost foam.

These became popular because they were groundbreaking at one point in time, but I have no idea why RFD'ers still go crazy over these deals on Ultraboosts. You can find shoes on sale from other brands that are softer and lighter for less money. Adidas do make them in a lot of colourways, so if you just love how they look then obviously they're still a good buy.
